A "routine" traffic stop by a Hamilton Township Police Officer could have had a tragic ending if not for the quick reflexes of the cop.

Hamilton Township Police say Ofc. Bakker was conducting a vehicle stop on Harding Highway on January 19th when he was nearly struck by a passing car.

Authorities say Ofc. Bakker was not injured in the incident.

Cops say, "This is the exact reason why we ask motorists to please remember to slow down and proceed cautiously, when approaching a stationary emergency vehicle with flashing lights activated."
