Police called to a Ventnor Heights home Sunday on a unresponsive baby call are being credited with saving the child's life by quickly administering CPR.

The child's mother, Lisa Scalia, 31, is now facing drug and child endangerment charges.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, when police arrived at Scalia's home Sunday, the child was unconscious and in need of immediate help.

Officer Hommy Quinones administered CPR and was able to revive the infant, who was taken by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City,  police Chief Michael Miller said.

The child has since been transferred to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Pennsylvania. Her condition was not known.

Scalia is being held in the Atlantic County jail in Mays Landing on $100,000 bail.
