So at this point, all of your presents have been given and received and hopefully everything was loved.

But let's face it. That hope is completely unrealistic.

So take a look at some of the most common stores' return policies for a stress-free and easy return or exchange.

Best Buy 

Clients can return items in-store at any location and for a stress-free process, bring along proof of purchase, valid ID, and the credit card that was used.

Items can also be turned in the mail with the included Return Label and taking the package to a UPS drop off location. But be advised that the return shipping charge might be taken from the total refund.

Items must be returned within 15 days for standard clients, 30 days for elite members, and 45 days for Best Buy Elite Plus members.

Walmart 

For items bought in-store or online, customers have 90 days to return or exchange an item with the original packaging and accessories along with the receipt or packing slip but as always, there are certain exceptions including electronics.

If the item was purchased using a credit card, consumers can return in-store or online but if the item was purchased with cash, consumers must return in-store.

If you are returning online, log in to your Walmart account, print a pre-paid return label to send back the item along with the reasoning for your return or exchange.

Sears 

Customers have 30 days to return or exchange items with the original packaging along with the original receipt or packing slip. The major exception are tires which must be purchased to a Sears Auto Center location.

The original form of payment is how the refund will be given in most cases.

Gamestop 

Gamestop has a very strict return policy. Customers must return items within 30 days from the date on the packing slips. New items must be unopened and in their original packaging and pre-owned items must be in their original conditions.

Items that are damaged, played, or are missing parts will not be refunded.

Forever 21 

Items purchased at Forever21.com must be returned within 30 days from the shipping date for an exchange, credit, or refund and in the country that the original purchase was made.

Customers MUST provide the order invoice and the credit card to make the return or exchange.

If customers used PayPal to pay for their order, they can only receive an exchange or store credit only.

Items must be returned unwashed, unworn, undamaged, and with all of the tags attached.

JCPenney 

JCPenney is one of the retailers with the easiest return policies. With a receipt or gift receipt, customers are eligible for an exchange or refund at the price the item was purchased for.

If customers have no receipt, exchanges or refunds will be offered at the item's lowest selling price within the last 45 days with a photo ID.

Returns or exchanges can be done at any JCPenney stores or by mail.

Bed, Bath & Beyond 

Returns or exchanges can be made at this retailer within 30 days and having a receipt will make the process much simpler.

If you do not have a receipt, the purchase can be located using the credit/debit card, gift card number, store or merchandise credit number, order number, registry number, or checking account number.

If none of those methods work, a complete exchange for 20% less than the current selling price will be offered.

Nordstrom

Nordstrom handles returns on a case-by-case basis. The easiest way for them to locate your order is by having the receipt.

Orders online can be returned by sending the item back or by simply bringing it to a store near you.

If a return or exchange is made with no receipt, a return will be provided at the item's current price on a Nordstrom gift card.

Macy's 

Macy's gives customers one year to return items but will only accept them if they are in good condition and have a proof of purchase which could include the original receipt, the credit card used for the purchase, gift receipt, registry number, or the return label or packaging slip.

If you do not have a proof of purchase, you may still be eligible for store credit at the item's lowest selling price within the last 180 days.
