Atlantic City Police say a narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two men and the recovery of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana in the city on Thursday.

Cops say an officer was conducting surveillance in the 1300 block of Baltic Avenue when he observed a drug deal take place between 29-year-old Marlow Guerrier of Pleasantville and 21-year-old Keaon Horton of Atlantic City. Guerrier, who was driving a vehicle, left the area after the transaction while Horton returned to a house in the 300 block of North South Carolina Avenue.

While cops attempted to stop Guerrier, he fled before being caught, then resisted arrest. While resisting, 250 bags of heroin, which were concealed in Guerrier’s pants, fell to the ground. After being arrested, detectives found another 300 bags of heroin in Guerrier’s pants and seized over $5,700 from his car.

Detectives then returned to Horton’s residence and as they approached, cops say he attempted to hide a bag of cocaine in his pants. The detectives recovered the pants-hidden cocaine and arrested him. During a search of Horton’s residence, detectives recovered 850 bags of heroin, 68 grams of marijuana, and they seized over $1,600 in cash.

Guerrier was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with the intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.

Horton was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), two counts each of possession with the intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
