You get a unique and frightening look at the  power and speed of the tornado that ripped through the Oklahoma City suburbs Monday afternoon... in this time-lapse video produced by WMCT-TV, Action News 5 from Memphis, TN.

The enormous tornado roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs, killing at least 51 people, including 20 children Monday.

The two-mile-wide twister pulverized entire city blocks, left behind miles of mangled cars and splintered wood, and destroyed an elementary school where seven children were found dead.

At one hospital, 85 patients, including 65 children, were being treated for minor to critical injuries.

At least seven of the dead children were killed at an Elementary School, where the tornado tore the roof off the school about 3 p.m.

This footage vividly shows the the tornado's rotation and incredible speed.  After watching it, you really understand how difficult it would be to try an escape the wrath of an F-4 tornado such as this one.
