High temperatures will be 8 to 10 degrees above normal again on Thursday, with mostly sunny skies continuing through Saturday.

The broken record weather forecast continues for New Jersey this week. The top weather story continues to be the dry conditions, warm temperatures, and blue skies. Drought concerns aside, this is a very nice grand finale to summer.

Thursday's high temperatures will be very similar to Wednesday's, in the mid 80s. The Jersey Shore will end up a bit cooler, in the upper 70s to about 80°. This morning's satellite is showing a few clouds still streaming through the skies of New Jersey. Sunshine should still dominate the sky by this afternoon.

We will keep the sunny skies for Friday and Saturday, with high temperatures again in the lower to mid 80s. Some humidity will creep into the air by Saturday, so it might feel a bit sticky during the heat of the day.

Sunday will be transition day, as a weak cold front pushes through New Jersey. Usually with a front, we talk about precipitation. Yes, I am keeping a low chance for a few showers in the forecast for late Sunday through early Monday. However, the vast majority of the rain looks to stay north of New Jersey. I would not be surprised if we get no rain at all from this system.

More importantly, cooler and drier air will slowly leak into New Jersey behind the front. Winds will kick up dramatically on Sunday and Monday, gusting over 25 mph. I think Sunday's high temperature will still make it to the upper 70s to lower 80s, before temperatures start falling. (That depends on the exact timing of frontal passage.)

The end result of the front will be a real taste of autumn for next week. Daily high temperatures for Monday, Tuesday, and beyond will be limited to the lower 70s - a far cry from this week's mid to upper 80s!
