The X Factor/Britney Spears Update

Britney Spears is close to signing a 12-15 million dollar deal to become a judge on THE  X Factor. Simon Cowell wants  Britney to replace Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul on the X Factor panel, but negotiations are currently sticking about how many seasons she would have to work on.

Britney is all for a one year deal and money is not an issue.  They're looking to pay her 12-15 million for one year and a big raise for the second year based on ratings performance. 

Simon Cowell wants at least a two-year commitment and Britney wants an out clause if she doesn't want to continue after one year of service.

Both Simon and L.A. Reid who I like as a judge are staying on for season two.

In addition to Britney, Simon would love to have Adele join the panel. I think I'd rather watch Adele then Brittany..
