With the typical summer heat and humidity upon us, we're all looking for ways to stay cool here in New Jersey. There's really no better way than with a scoop (or three) of ice cream.

So where's the best place to get it here in the Garden State?

Foursquare named the most popular ice cream shop in each state based on user tips, likes and shares. (Did anyone else think, "Wait, people are still using Foursquare?" I digress.)

So what's the most popular spot for ice cream here in Jersey? Looks like you'll have to head north for this one, because the winner is: Hoffman's in Point Pleasant Beach!

Hoffman's also has three locations in Monmouth County, (Spring Lake Heights, Little Silver, and Long Branch) all serving up the ice cream made in the Point Beach store.

Hoffman's is so legendary, it's even been featured on the Travel Channel show Man vs. Food Nation!

I've had the chance to try Hoffman's several times in my foodie travels, and my favorite flavors are the Coconut Joy and the Espresso Mocha Chunk, but seriously you can't really go wrong with Hoffman's ice cream!

Lucky for us, there are plenty of awesome ice cream shops right here in South Jersey too. Don't miss them!
