Did "the Force" call to you at halftime during Monday night's Giants vs. Eagles game?

The highly anticipated trailer for the newest installation of the Star Wars franchise "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was released during the football game. Tickets for the film, which opens in theaters on Dec. 18, went on sale following the release of the trailer.

The game could have been considered exciting by it's own standards, but the release of the trailer had even non-sports fans tuning in to Monday Night Football to catch a glimpse of the long-awaited installment - which marks the seventh live-action film and the first new Star Wars movie since “Episode III — Revenge of the Sith” was released in 2005 by Lucasfilm.

Almost immediately, Star Wars devotees took to social media to give their initial impressions of the trailer. Among them, New Jersey's most well-known comic book enthusiast, actor and filmmaker Kevin Smith.

His enthusiasm was echoed by countless fans who swarmed to YouTube to watch the trailer again. The reviews were mixed, but mostly positive and the Star Wars folks themselves even got in on the social media action, responding and retweeting posts.
