In honor or Throwback Thursday, here's a little blast from the past for ya.  Rod Stewart has recorded many hits over the span of his long career.  But what was the first single he ever recorded. way back in 1964 on this date?  Was it "Maggie May"?  How 'bout "Reason to Believe"?  Or maybe "Every Picture Tells a Story"?  Nope.  They were all released in 1971.  The firs

On this day back in 2002, singer Kelly Clarkson was voted the first "American Idol" on the Fox TV series.  And on that stage thirteen years ago today, Kelly sang, 'Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this'.  For Kelly, this was just the beginning of many more memorable moments to come.

On this date back in 1979, James Taylor played a free concert in New York's Central Park to help the city's campaign to restore the park's Sheep Meadow.  And tomorrow he plays another concert, this time a sold-out show at Borgata's Event Center.  And this one's definitely not free.  But I know it will be worth every penny.

When it comes to the music world, women certainly do rock.  And on this very day two years apart, two very different female artists each debuted her first solo album.  One is Madonna; the other is Stevie Nicks.  It was thirty-four years ago today that Stevie Nicks’ first solo album, "Bella Donna," was released.  Then exactly two years later, Madonna's self-titled debut album was released

Can you believe that today marks the 30th anniversary of Live Aid??  And it still remains one of the biggest days in music history when it comes to concert events.  It was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London (attended by 72,000 people) and JFK Stadium in Philly (attended by about 100,000 people).  And I was among those 100,000 folks.  And what a day it was!
