It's hard to believe, but the holidays will be here before you know it. Once again, some stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day for those who would rather shop then stuff themselves with turkey and watch endless football games.
Cyber Monday sales for 2015 set an all time record with over $3 billion dollars spent on online sales. Black Friday online sales were also strong with close to $2.74 billion. This also means more packages will be delivered to homes this holiday season.
Black Friday 2015 will be here before you know it. Black Friday has long been considered the start of the Christmas shopping season. Of course, that was before the start of Grey Thursday, the night before Black Friday.
Is Black Friday a thing of the past? There are only 26 shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most of the major retailers will start their big blowout sales on Thanksgiving night instead of Black Friday.
Online sales are up so far this year while shopping on Black Friday is down mainly due to more stores opening late on Thanksgiving. Online sales rose 17.4% on Thanksgiving and 20.7% on Black Friday, compared with 2011.
