A landmark diner in South Jersey is on the verge of becoming a Wawa superstore.

Wawa has it's sights on Brooklawn's Metro Diner, off Route 130 and W. Browning Lane. The restaurant was sold by the Fifi family, who also own Ponzio's Diner in Cherry Hill, back in 2009.

The Metro would be entirely demolished to make way for the super Wawa, according to Courier Post. The proposal will go to Brooklawn's planning board on June 14th.

Wawa also announced plans to erect two more convenience and fueling locations in Burlington County, as well as remodels at stores in Cinnaminson, Cherry Hill, and Maple Shade. Opening soon are stores in Lindenwold and Ewing.
