According to the American Stroke Association, the best way to remember the warning signs of a stroke are with the acronym FAST, which stands for:

F for Face Drooping – is one side of the person’s face numb? Is there smile uneven?

A for Arm Weakness – is one arm weak or numb?

S for Speech Difficulty – is the person’s speech slurred or hard to understand?

And finally, T for Time to call 9-11 and get the person to the hospital immediately, even if the symptoms disappear.

Check the time so you know when stroke symptoms first appeared because every second counts.  Again, the acronym is FAST, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty and Time to call 9-11.  Click here for more information.
