This may not come as a surprise to everyone but, the Sports Authority has been on shaky financial ground since the beginning of the year.

According to CNN Money, bankruptcy has been a real possibility since the company missed a debt payment of $220 million. Now comes word that nearly a third of all stores will be permanently closing its doors in the next three months.

The Wall Street Journal has released a list of the stores set to close. Among them is the Cherry Hill location. It looks like other local Sports Authority stores will remain open at this time.

Sports Authority currently has over 450 stores with 21 located in New Jersey, with the closest South Jersey location on the Black Horse Pike in Mays Landing. Other locations in the Garden State include: Brick, Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel and Flemington.
