The seventh rabies case in Atlantic County has been confirmed.The Shore News Today reports, a skunk has been been tested and confirmed positive for rabies. According to the Atlantic County County Division of Public Health, the skunk was found by a homeowner on the 200 block of Zion Road in the township. The homeowner noticed his dog playing with a skunk in his backyard.

The skunk tested positive for the disease at a state lab. Two confirmed cases of rabies have been found in the Township so far in 2015.

Pet Owners should make certain that their pets are up to date on their rabies shots. The next free rabies vaccination clinic courtesy of  Atlantic County Animal Shelter will take place on Sunday, November 15th from 9 to 11 AM  in Pleasantville on Old Turnpike Road.
