Complaints regarding the distribution of narcotics from a hotel room led to the arrest of five women and one man and the recovery of assorted drugs on Thursday in Atlantic City.

The Atlantic City Police Department says detectives conducted a vehicle stop after they observed people from the reported hotel room leaving. The driver, Christine Burke, was arrested after detectives found 950 bags of heroin and 15 grams of cocaine in her possession.

Detectives returned to the hotel room in the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue and located an additional 52 bags of heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.

Those arrested include the following people:

  • Christine Burke, a 28 year old female from Northfield -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), two counts of possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and contempt of court.
  • Manuel Alicea, a 24 year old male from Trenton -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and contempt of court. Cops say Manuel was found to have 50 bags of heroin in his possession.
  • Brianna Ross, a 29 year old female from Atlantic City -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and contempt of court.
  • Sara Bisher, a 29 year old female from Atlantic City -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and contempt of court.
  • Maya Jones, a 28 year old female from Mount Holly -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).
  • Desirae Barnes, a 22 year old female from Mount Holly -- Charges: three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS).

Burke, Alicea, Ross, and Bisher were all remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Jones and Barnes were released on a summons with a future court date.
