The National Weather Service  has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 9pm for the entire region as severe weather could be a problem this afternoon and this evening. Storms that could develop could have strong winds, damaging hail and frequent lighting. There is also a heat advisory in effect until 8PM. It feels more like 105 degrees outside right now.

The high temperature at Atlantic City International Airport already has tied the record of 99 degrees  set in 2006. We could easily break the record as temps continue to rise this afternoon.

It will finally start to cool off in South Jersey beginning tomorrow and through the weekend.
