Your choice of destinations will increase this spring at Atlantic City International Airport as Spirit Airlines has announced plans to offer seasonal service to several locations.

ACY has been trying to improve on its limited schedule of destinations since United Airlines stopped service at the airport in 2014.

Spirit's announcement of a seasonal increase in service means Atlantic City International will offer direct flights to four major cities, for the spring and summer anyway.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Spirit service to Boston begins March 12th, with flights to Atlanta, Detroit and Chicago beginning April 16th.

The Boston, Detroit and Chicago service will run through September 9th, while the Atlanta service continues until November 11th.

A Spirit spokesman said there are no immediate plans to expand any of these routes to full-time service. Spirit is currently Atlantic City' International's only commercial airline.

Talks between Air Canada and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority could lead to seasonal service to Toronto.
