More than 5,900 employees will be out of work with the closings of Revel, Showboat and the soon to be Trump Plaza which is scheduled to close on September 16th.

Starting next week, a resource center will be opening at the Atlantic City Convention Center for recent laid-off casino workers. Workstations will be set up to help workers' with claims for the state Department of Labor. Social service organizations and other agencies will also be on hand to help.

Local 54 is behind the resource center which will help former casino workers file for unemployment, register for health insurance and get  more information other assistance available including food stamps.

The resource center is being called "AC Unites Here" and it will be open from 9 to 5 starting tomorrow through September 10th. The center will move location after the Trump Plaza shutdown on Septmebr 16th. The new location for "AC Unites Here" will be announced at a later date.
