A 17-year-old Mays Landing teen has been arrested for the ninth time in two years on car theft charges.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the boy and a 16-year-old teen accomplice were charged March 10 with multiple counts of conspiracy and theft for burglarizing 13 cars. The pair were taken to the Harborfields Youth Detention Center.

The 17-year-old suspect was later released and placed on house arrest. That might not be enough a deterrent for him though. He's been arrested four times previously for burglarizing a total of 22 cars, all while on house arrest.

It sounds to me like it's time to step up the house arrest security for this troubled kid.
