The Townsends Inlet bridge, which connects Avalon and Sea Isle City in Cape May, will shut down for the night, beginning on Friday (11/10) so repairs can begin.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the bridge will be close Friday at 10 PM through Saturday morning at 5 AM. The first step of the $2.67 million dollar project will start immediately after the bridge opens with only alternating lanes until June 2018.

The bridge will undergo repair on the structure’s railings which will replaced. No tolls will be collected during the construction period. Officials are also asking you to be careful and use caution when traveling the bridge since the one lane will only be 10 feet wide.
