Get ready for the next full moon of 2017! Stargazers will be in for a treat when the next full moon rises over South Jersey on Thursday, October 5th.

A rare harvest moon, which will be the first full moon of autumn, will be visible Thursday night October 5th, according to NJ.com. The rare full moon will be its brightest just after sunset.

This will be only the 18th time we get a a full moon in October from 1970 and 2050, according to TreeHugger.com. The last Harvest Moon took place 2009 and the next time we'll see it will be 2020. The Harvest Moon get its name due to its ability to help farmers.

The next full moon will take place on November 4th. The "Beaver Moon" will shine the brightest in the early morning hours, just after midnight on the 4th.
