Photos taken by the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company paint a vivid image of the intensity of the fire that engulfed two yachts docked at the Seaview Harbor Marina in Egg Harbor Township early Monday morning.

Around 1am this morning multiple departments from Egg Harbor Twp, Longport and Margate responded to Seaview Harbor Marina on the Longport Blvd for two large boats on fire. The fire took several hours to get under control units were on location working until around 6am.

Each boat contained 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel, some of which leaked into the water. A Coast Guard team and the Department of Environmental Protection were on scene to respond to the pollution, U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Shannon Kearney told NJ.com.

Responders have deployed material into the water to absorb the fuel, she said. The amount of fuel discharge is under investigation.

The owners of the boats are responsible for clean-up.There were no injuries. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
