Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Tiger” the cat.

Here’s a little background info on Tiger from the Humane Society of Ocean City…

Tiger is a 7-year-oldneuterd male orange tiger cat. He gets along well with other cats and possible with a cat-friendly dog, but, no kids please.

Special Needs- Tiger is on a Prescription Diet.

"Hey there, I'm "Tiger", and I'm GRRRRREAT! Okay, so I'm not a real tiger. I'm a cat silly! I am an eight-year old, extra-large orange, tabby striped, boy kitty. I was brought to the H.S.O.C. by my former owner, when she could no longer care for me.

When I first arrived at the shelter I was a furry bundle of scaredy cat nerves. Not cuddly, or much fun to be around. Then I was sent to the vet, and then my story began to change! I was found to have a severe urinary blockage, and swiftly put on a prescription food to keep me flowing smoothly. Since my diet has been changed, and I have gotten a bit more used to my surroundings I have become a super, pleasant feline to hang around! Boy, talk about an attitude adjustment!

Now, the new improved Tiger is a lovable guy, who enjoys spending time with his people. I meow, and nuzzle your head when you hold me! However, let me tell you that the shy kitty I once was is still in me. With my new forever family, I will probably be a tad reserved when I am first introduced to my new home.

Also, a spectacular forever home would have to include a person or persons who are willing to commit to feeding me only my prescription food for the rest of my life. So, what do you think? Could you be that person? If so come by soon to meet me for yourself. I'm sure having me as your fur-baby would indeed be GREEEAT!"
