Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Amos” the cat.

Here’s a little background info on Amos from the Humane Society of Ocean City…

"Amos is a 2-year-old male black domestic short-haired cat.  He gets along well with other cats and would possibly be good with kids and dogs too.

Do you like keeping up on the latest celebrity gossip? Know anybody famous? Well, I'm famous Amos! You can call me just plain "Amos" for short. Although, with the headbutts I give, I should be famous!

I am a solid black, domestic short hair, boy kitty in search of his forever home. I came to the H.S.O.C. after I was trapped in the neighboring shore town of Sea Isle City, as a stray. I couldn't tell anybody just how I got that way but, by spending just a little time with me, the staff here feel that I am too friendly to have never been in a home of some sort. They think that I may be only about two-years old.

I enjoy playing with toys, watching birdies, eating food of any sort, and most of all cuddles! Like I said I am known for miles around for being the best "headbutter" around! You can just see in my dear expression on my kitty face, that I am so very happy to see you! Goodness, I will even walk away from the tastiest of wet food to greet a friend.

As far as my forever home, due to me being in the wild for a period of time, a patient home would be best. Probably folks that are comfortable with the fact that I may be shy at first but, not for long! I can warm up to any two legged or four legged for that matter, that is kind, and gentle.

So, what will it be? You don't have to be famous to adopt this "Amos"!"
