Pet of the Week: Cats, Dogs, Kids, You…Reggie Loves Everybody!
Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.
If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.
All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.
This week we met Reggie the cat. Reggie is a 2-year-old black and white, short-haired cat.
Here’s a little background info on Reggie from the Humane Society of Ocean City…
“Good with other cats, Reggie likes to play with other cats and doesn’t take it personally when they don’t want to play back.
Possibly OK with a cat friendly dog, He Hasn’t lived with dogs but he seems like he wants to be friends with everything after he is comfortable with his surroundings
Possibly OK with children, While he is a very friendly and playful guy he can be shy at first, and an active household with younger children may cause him to take a little longer to come out of his shell. Reggie was found as a stray by one of our volunteers.
Reggie is a happy friendly cat, he loves to play when he isn’t getting attention and is lots of fun. Unfortunately Reggie’s personality doesn’t really shine until he gets to know you and can be a little scared of new people or situations. He may need his new family to have a little patience as he gets comfortable before they can enjoy how wonderful he is”.
If you would like to visit Reggie or need more information about any animal up for adoption at The Humane Society of Ocean City, call 609-399-2018 or stop in any day between 11a-3p.
To adopt from the HSOC you will need one form of identification, which includes your name, permanent address and proof of ownership (i.e., local tax stub). If you rent, written approval from your landlord is required as well as personal identification.
The adoption fee is $50.00 for cats or kittens and $85 for dogs, adults and puppies. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and debit cards. Checks are accepted upon management’s approval. All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, microchip if requested, free first vet exam, and all necessary vaccinations through the first year. Adoption applications are available at the shelter.
