Every parents' nightmare became real life for an Atlantic City family Monday afternoon when a 2-year-old boy fell from a second-story window at their home on North Bellevue Avenue.

The Press of Atlantic City reports that the boy landed in a backyard, and was conscious and crying when police arrived.

He was taken to Atlantic City Regional Medical Center's City Division where he was listed in stable condition with injuries to his hand and foot.

Police say the child's parents were heartbroken by the accident.  "They thought someone else was watching him. There was nothing criminal", according to a spokesperson.

The boy is expected to make a full recovery.
