How long it takes some couples to have a baby and the toll that can take on their relationships was the focus...of a recent study conducted in England.

The study finds that nearly one in five couples spent more than a year trying to have a baby.

The survey of more than 2,000 people found that 18% of couples spent over a year trying to get pregnant.

20% of the couples said the trouble getting pregnant had placed a strain on their relationship and sex lives.

Experts say women delaying motherhood and the obesity epidemic are the two main reasons why couples are having more trouble getting pregnant nowadays.

What's been your experience? Were you successful in having a baby?  If so, how long did the conception take?  More than a year? Did you turn to fertility treatments for assistance?
