Ocean County Teacher Hit By Lightning During Snow Storm
A South Jersey middle school teacher helping students get on buses at dismissal time was hit by lighting during Wednesday's thunder and lighting snowstorm.
According to The Press of Atlantic City, a 33-year-old eighth-grade teacher from Toms River was standing outside the school about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday when her umbrella was struck, Manchester Police said.
Two other teachers took the victim into the school nurse’s office, where she was alert and conscious but reported tingling on her hand and arm, according to the police press release.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment and evaluation of nonlife-threatening injuries.
