Ocean City resident and World War II vet  Roland “Rocky” Gannon will once again be the grand marshal of Galloway Township’s Fourth of July parade.

The parade is a celebration of our country's veterans and armed forces members. Roland Gannon was just 17 when he joined the Air Force in 1944. He served on missions in  World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and in the Belgian Congo.

Galloway's Fourth of July parade has the most entries in the state including fire and police departments, Miss New Jersey 2014 and four high school marching bands.

The parade kicks off Friday at 9 AM at Smithville Boulevard. The parade then proceeds down Moss Mill Road. A ceremony featuring Roland Gannon will be held at Historic Smithville on Moss Mill Road starting after the conclusion of the parade.
