A new ordinance will be introduced at the next Ocean City council meeting to ban jumping off bridges.

According to Capt. Steve Ang, public information officer for the Ocean City Police Department. "“People should know better than to jump off bridges. It’s dangerous. You don’t know what’s in the water.”

During the summer of 2014, police received complaints concerning people jumping into the water at Corsons Inlet and reports of bridge-jumping from the Ocean City-Longport Bridge. Offenders have ranged from teens to adults under the influence of alcohol.

Police also want to put an end of people posting videos online. If you make a video jumping off a bridge, police will come looking for you.
