NJ’s First Snow Equals a Flurry of Social Media Activity [PHOTOS]

Ok, so it's not exactly a blizzard, but the snow that fell on the Garden State Sunday was still a bit more than most New Jerseyans were expecting.

By Sunday afternoon, many areas of the state were already reporting anywhere from a coating up to an inch of snow. Earlier in the day, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory that was expected to remain in effect until 7 p.m.

As of about 5:30 p.m., Meteorologist Dan Zarrow said the snow was beginning to clear out of the western part of the state.

Although we've had a pretty mild winter so far, Zarrow is tracking some changes that could be in store for the Garden State later this week.

Many New Jersey residents took to social media, posting pictures of the snow, which extended as far north as parts of Essex and Union counties.
