Miss New Jersey Wins Scholarship on Day Two of the 2016 Miss America Prelims

Congratulations to the winners from last night's preliminaries, Miss Florida, Miss Louisiana and our own Miss New Jersey.The talent category was won by Miss Louisiana April Nelson who sang a song from the Sound of Music soundtrack called “Climb Every Mountain.” Miss Florida took top honors in the swim wear portion of the competition.

Congratulations to our own Miss New Jersey,  Lindsey Giannini, of Hammonton on winning  the $6,000 quality of life scholarship. The quality of life scholarship is for women who surpass others when it comes to enhancing the quality of life for people through volunteerism and community. Giannini's  "Dangers of Distracted Driving" platform was recognized for reminding drivers the dangers and consequences of texting and driving.

The third night of the Miss America Prelims will start at 7 PM live at Boardwalk Hall.

The Show us Your Shoes Parade is scheduled for this Saturday starting at 5 PM from Trump Taj Mahal. Lite Rock’s Eddie Davis will co host the parade coverage which can be heard on WPG Talk Radio 1450 AM.
