It's now official, the 95th anniversary of the Miss America competition will still call Atlantic City home.

The Miss America Competition and Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City have announced the dates of the Miss America pageant and competition for 2016. The preliminaries will be held September 8th through September 10th. The final night will be live on ABC on September 10th.

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority on Tuesday approved a three-year contract to keep the pageant in Atlantic City through 2019. According to reports by Philly.com, the total cost of the deal comes to $12.5 million. The Miss America Pageant will be promoted during Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eye and the Billboard Music Awards.

I had the chance to spend the afternoon with the 2016 Miss America Contestants including Miss New Jersey, Lindsey Giannini and Miss America 2015 Kira Kazantsev during the Miss America Arrival ceremony in 2015. The boardwalk was packed on a steamy summer afternoon to see all 52 contestants made their debut at Kennedy Plaza. Excitement was definitely in the air.
