There has been a lot of talk about raising the minimum wage to $15.00/hour and now, the time may have come for that discussion to be turned into a reality.

In a recent radio interview, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin said that he is hoping to have the bill completed by the December 17th voting session. If it is not, he is aiming to have the bill completed by the first voting session after the new year.

"We're going to work toward a $15 minimum wage," said Doughlin. "I think there is agreement among the governor, the Senate president and myself that we need to get there, because so many people in the state struggle to make ends meet and so many people have to work two or three jobs to do that."

Those that are in favor of the minimum wage increase argue that the miniscule increases have no risen with the high cost of living.

According to NJ.com, "someone working 40 hours per week at $8.60 an hour will earn $344 a week, or $17,888 a year. At $8.85, that worker will earn $354 a week, or $18,408 a year."

However, the other side of the spectrum is worried about where the money will come from when the minimum wage is raised.

What do you think because the time is now!
