Mega Millions Jackpot Jumps, Could Reach $1 Billion!

I thought about mentioning to the people lined up in the 7-11b this morning to buy Mega-Millions Lottery tickets, that news reports estimate you have a much better chance of being hit by an asteroid than you do of winning the jackpot,  but I didn't have the heart.  Besides, someone does have to win eventually, right?

If that winning ticket isn't picked tonight, the Mega Millions jackpot could end up reaching the $1 billion mark.

The jackpot had no winner on Friday which means the $550 million pot keeps rising. It's now over $586 million.

The cash option would be $316 million.

But, unfortunately you have a better chance of being killed by an asteroid than of winning the jackpot - 1 and 259 million to be exact.

If there isn't a winner tonight the pot will jump again heading into Friday.
