Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Max” the dog. Max is a 4-year-old 75-pound hound mix.

Here is some information on Max from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

“Max was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Georgia and traveled a long 15 hours in a tiny crate to get to New Jersey. Under-weight and under-loved, Max has adapted to his new life up hear most excellently and is hoping to find a new forever home here in New Jersey.

A tall, cool drink of water describes Max. He has thin, sleek, handsome brindle fur (brown/black), a wiggly-nub of a tail, floppy ears, and adorable “sad-guy” eyes!

Max is a curious and friendly fellow who wants to check everything out that is new. He loves to run in the yard and play with his toys! Max is likely house-broken and should be an excellent addition to any household. Children of all ages and other dogs should be fine.

If you would like to visit Max or need more information about any animal up for adoption at The Humane Society of Ocean City, call 609-399-2018 or stop in any day between 11a-3p.To adopt from the HSOC you will need one form of identification, which includes your name, permanent address and proof of ownership (i.e., local tax stub).
