The town of Margate gathered on the beach for an obstacle run Sunday and a fun time was had by all! 

 

The Margate Education Foundation and the Margate Beach Patrol held the first annual Margate Dune Dash on the beach, challenging "waves" of townsfolk to run their best time  in a mile-long obstacle course.

Obstacles included hurdles, sand-bag carry, rope swing, crab walk, a run into the ocean and a sand-hill climb finale complete with a hosing from the Margate Fire Department.

Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG was on hand for the festivities on the Huntington Avenue beach.

My family joined a large crowd from Margate for this really fun morning of community spirit. Even though you wouldn't know it from our slow finishing time, we worked hard on the course, and, any race in the sand is a good workout!

These days it is becoming commonplace for drone cameras to shoot video of these types of events, and they had one a the Dune Dash .
