A teenager from Lower Township is facing a variety of charges after an altercation Friday with a Township Police officer investigating a burglary.

Here's a report on Friday's incident from the Lower Township Police...

"On Friday June 03, 2016 at approximately 2:05 a.m., Lower Township Police Officers were dispatched to the area of West Pacific Avenue and Millman Lane in the Villas to investigate a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 17-year-old male who resides in the area.

While speaking with the juvenile, he became disorderly and physically pushed Lower Township Police Officer Jordan Saini. The juvenile was quickly subdued and placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Lower Township Police Department where he was charged on juvenile papers with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, burglary and theft. At the conclusion of processing he was released to the custody of a guardian.

This is an ongoing investigation that is being conducted by the Lower Township Detective Division. Additional charges may be forthcoming."
