A local bridge is now open for traffic again after four long years.The English Creek Bridge along Somers Point-Mays Landing Road was closed after suffering damage due to Tropical Storm Irene in the summer of 2011. Trafffic will now flow freely on the bridge which also serves as a major route toward the shore points according to Atlantic County Spokesperson Linda Gilmore.

The reconstruction of the bridge cost $3.5 million. The flow of traffic will be monitored closely by the Atlantic County's public works director.
