Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG will be apart of Northfield’s National Night Out celebration, being held Tuesday, August 5th from 6-8 p.m. at the Northfield Community School, 2000 New Road.

The 31st Annual National Night Out is a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The campaign involves law enforcement, civic groups, businesses and citizens from 15,000 communities in all 50 states. In all, 37 million people are expected to participate in National Night Out!

The idea is to throw a community party to heighten crime and drug abuse prevention, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send the message to criminals to let them know communities are organized and fighting back.

Join Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG along with community groups and local businesses is a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatable slides and an obstacle course. The Northfield Fire Department along with Shore Emergency Management Services will be there with demonstrations.

Police officers with be in the gym for basketball and volleyball games with the community. The Northfield Library and Atlantic Prevention Resources along with others will be there with games and giveaways.
