Lite Rock Teams With Miss America Contestants for Rescue Mission Food Drive

Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG is proud to partner with the Miss America Pageant for the Miss America Serves Atlantic City Rescue Mission Food Drive.

The Food Drive culminates Thursday, when I will join 17 of the Miss America contestants collecting food that has been donated by the participating schools in the Atlantic City School District.

After picking up the food, we will head to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission to unload the donations and pack them in to the food pantry.

The school which collects the most food will get a visit from the newly crowned Miss America 2015 next week!

You can help with this great cause too, by dropping off food donations Wednesday at Accents Home Furnishings on Tilton Road in Northfield or anytime during regular business hours at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, 2009 Bacharach Blvd. or by calling 609-345-5517.

Here is a list of some of the items the Rescue Mission needs right now...

100 LBS. of Meat Protein (Beef, Pork, Fish, Lamb) per meal

Un-Sliced Rolls of Lunch Meat

Gallon Size Mayonnaise

Gallon Size Salad Dressings

5-10 pound bags of complete pancake mix

Large Containers of pancake syrup

15 dozen egg crates (75 dozen eggs used per breakfast)

Cases of bottled water

Ice Tea Mix

Whole Turkeys and Hams (Uncooked)

New packages of socks and underwear
