Well, it look like the rumors are about to finally come true. NBC has just confirmed that Jay Leno will be stepping down as Tonight show host next year.  Leno confirmed his departure in spring of 2014, after 22 years as The Tonight Show's top rated host.  Leno succeeded Johnny Carson in the spring of 1992. Carson retired after thirty years of hosting the Tonight Show.

NBC has also confirmed the Jimmy Fallon (surprise) will be the new Tonight Show host and the show will be moving from Los Angles to New York.  The show will also be produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. Lorne also produces Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Now the rumors will start to swirl concerning Jay Leno.  Fox has already expressed serious interest in Jay Leno hosting a new Late Night Show for their network.
