Think of "Hoops For All" as the basketball cousin to baseball's South Jersey Field of Dreams.

Much the same way the Field of Dreams in Absecon lets kids with physical and cognitive challenges play baseball for the first time, Hoops For All gives them a chance to learn and play basketball in their own league.

Join me and Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG this Sunday afternoon at 2pm for the first games of the Hoops For All season.

Margate Community Education and Recreation presents the ninth annual Hoops For All season. Hoops For All is an instructional basketball league for physically and cognitively challenged children.

The first games of the season will take place on Sunday January 11 at the Eugene Tighe School located at 7804 Amherst Avenue in Margate. Goodwin Gopherit, The South Jersey Field of Dreams mascot, is expected to make an appearance.

The league is open to special needs children and young adults between the ages of seven and twenty one. All new and returning players should report that day. For more information or to register contact Marianne Christian at (609) 822-2285 or register here.
