Holiday Food Drive Makes Two Stops This Weekend
This year’s Lite Rock Holiday Food Drive culminates this weekend with two collections at South Jersey ShopRites.
You can join us to make a donation from 10a to 1p Saturday Nov. 21 at ShopRite in Galloway, 401 South Pitney Road and Sunday Nov. 22 at the ShopRite in Marmora, 4 Roosevelt Blvd.
The Holiday Food drive benefits the Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch in Egg Harbor Township.
When you donate this weekend, you can enter to win tickets to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra live at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday, December 19th.
Each year the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and their partners feed 900,000 hungry people. With the help of so many caring individuals, corporations, foundations, houses of worship, schools and community groups, they have distributed almost 500 million pounds of food valued at roughly one billion dollars.
For many years during the holiday season, Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG has been involved in helping. Each November we call on the generosity of our listeners to donate the food stuffs needed to keep the pantries at the Food Bank open and the families who rely on this food nourished.
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch is making a special appeal this year for meals in a can, peanut butter and jelly, canned tuna and other meats, canned soup and cereal.
