Many fields & practice facilities are not in any shape to use and players have been evacuated. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association has postponed all of this week's scheduled high school football games until next week and move up the start of the playoffs according to the Star Ledger.

The NJSIAA is also postponing the start of many tournaments including boys & girls soccer, cross country, volleyball and gymnastics until next week.

“This is as dramatic a situation as we’ve ever faced,” Steve Timko, the NJSIAA's executive director, told the Star Ledger..  “You can remember situations where it snowed on a football championship. We’ve had rain delays for soccer during the course of a tournament. But not anything that has impacted all of our tournaments at the same time. This has really been a dramatic and traumatic situation for all of our member schools to deal with.”

The change moves the opening round of the playoffs to the week of November 16, the semi-finals to November 30 and the championship games to the weekend of December 7.
