Every Thursday morning at 7:15 am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Grady” the cat. Grady is a 2-year-old black and white long-haired cat, who is on a special diet.

Here's some information on Grady from the Humane Society of Ocean City...

I, Grady, am HERE! I am a beautiful black-and-white Domestic Long-Haired cat, and a neutered male to-boot! Born ~ March of 2014…under an AWESOME sign (because it is MY sign)…I am a mere 2 years of age. Some say I may be a Pisces, but I tell you I am all Aries!

My previous owner surrendered me because I was urinating all over the house and they were fed up. I couldn’t help though, you see I was suffering from a urinary tract infection, but the humans never took me to see the vet!

[On an aside, if your animal friends are behaving oddly, take them to the vet! Many of us animals will behave irregularly when we are suffering from medical issues…it is the only way we can relate to you humans that something is wrong with us!]

Because I went too long with the infection, I now have to eat a special urinary diet for the rest of my life…but that doesn’t slow me down! Not be conceited, but I am an absolutely wonderful kitty (I do say so myself)! I am very outgoing & personable, highly active & playful, and quite possibly the smartest cat…EVER.

This of course makes me very trainable, but also a bit mischievous! I can open things (like doors….) with handles or slide-locks and am very astute at picking up on (…and manipulating) human behaviors! I love to play, but tend to bit a little rough, so kids 12 & up (visit depending) are more suitable for me; doggies and other kitties I will probably like…however I MUST be an indoor only kitty!

If you are looking for someone to play with, dote upon, and amuse…then come see me, Grady, the super-awesome-handsome-pretty-genius-cool-awesome cat! Yeah, I said awesome twice, because…well because I’m double awesome!"
