Galloway Township Police are asking for your help locating the man who was driving a car which struck a township K-9 sergeant while fleeing from a traffic stop on Thursday.Police are identifying the man as James Galloway.

After being stopped by Sgt. Scott Winneberger, Galloway accelerated away from the scene, striking the officer and giving him minor injuries. The car crashed after a short distance and the suspect fled on foot. Police found heroin in Galloway's car. He is facing several charges.

K-9 Sgt. Scott Winneberger initiated a car stop on Wrangleboro Road. The driver suddenly accelerated from the scene while Sgt. Winneberger was speaking to him, striking the officer with his vehicle. Winneberger sustained minor injuries.

The vehicle was found crashed a short distance from the scene of the stop and the driver had fled on foot. Further investigation resulted in the driver being identified as James Gallaway of Galloway Township. Gallaway could not be located. Heroin was found in the vehicle.

Warrants for Gallaway have been issued for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Assault by Auto, Eluding, Obstruction, Possession of CDS, and numerous motor vehicle violations.

The Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Gallaway. He is a black male, 35 years old, 5’8” tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs. with a slender build. He frequents Galloway Township and Pleasantville.
