Today we check out the big screen, looking at 1982 in movies!

It was the first year that a feature film used computer animation extensively, that movie being sci-fi flick Tron.

The biggest movie of the year was the classic E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, which went on to become the highest grossing film of the decade!

1982 is when Hugh Grant, Eddie Murphy, and Glenn Close made their film debuts, and this week in theaters, moviegoers were seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger in Conan the Barbarian.

Other big movies in ’82 were Tootsie, An Officer and a Gentleman, Rocky III, and Porky’s.
