Cherry Hill Police Department has enlisted resources from the FBI to help find a nearly 100 year old statue stolen from a home in November.

What makes the statue so special? It's reportedly an unfinished marble bust of a Sudanese woman by an American painter/sculptor named Nathaniel Choate, who passed away in 1965.

Choate works, inspired by his travels to places like Morocco and Sudan, often appeared at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and galleries in other major U.S. cities.

Authorities tell 6abc.com the stolen bust has "cultural heritage significance." It was pilfered from an apartment at Barclay Towers.

The FBI's Art Crime team is investigating the disappearance and assisting Cherry Hill Police in recovery efforts. A reward is being offered for any information leading to its return.
